Justin Dill

Twenty-two years after his father Gary graduated from Broken Arrow High School as a
state wrestling champion, Justin Dill graduated as the BA High School Senior boy of the
Year. He also earned the Pioneer for Tomorrow Award in 1994 and was a member of the
National Honor Society.

As an athlete, Justin lettered two years in football, being named team captain in 1993 when
he was an All-Conference running back. It was in baseball, however, where Justin really
made his name. He started for the Tigers’ 1991 State Championship team as a freshman
and was a 4-year letterman. His career batting average was .378 and his 31 career home
runs were a school record. A 3-time All-Conference catcher, Justin was twice named the
Frontier Conference Player of the Year. He was the Metro Player of the Year in 1994,
Northeast Oklahoma Player of the Year, member of the Oklahoma Sunbelt Classic team
that same year, Jim Thorpe Award nominee in 1994, OSSAA All-State catcher his senior
year and was twice named All-State catcher by the Daily Oklahoman newspaper. While
playing in the Junior Pan Am games in 1991, Justin was named to the All-Tournament team.

After leading the nation with 25 home runs and 128 RBI at Connors State Junior College as
an All-Region catcher in 1996, he went on to Vanderbilt where he became an Academic All-
American in 1996 and Southeast Conference Scholar Athlete Honor Roll member in 1997
and 1998. He was also awarded the Harold W. “Cotton” Clark Leadership Award in 1998,
given to the Vanderbilt athlete who displayed superior leadership qualitied.

The Broken Arrow High School is proud to induct Justin Dill into its Athletic Hall of Fame.
